Disney Add ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ to Their String of New Star Wars Projects

Disney has announced yet another new Star Wars project to add to their already jam-packed schedule.

Coming at the end of the highly anticipated season finale of the hit show The Mandalorian, a mid-credits scene revealed The Book of Boba Fett will be on our screens in December 2021, taking the number of Mando spin-offs up to three, alongside Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic.

Rumours of a Boba Fett solo-project have been circulating for some months, and with the character’s comeback from the jaws of the Sarlaac made canon-official in the sixth episode of The Mandalorian’s second season, Disney slowing began to reveal their hand.

Not much is known about the new series. The in-show announcement was made after we saw Fett and new partner in crime Fennec Shand raiding and assuming control over Jabba the Hutt’s crime empire headquarters on Tatooine.

While this suggests we’ll see events moving forward from this point, perhaps seeing Fett making his mark as a new lord of the underworld, the title of the project hints that we may see different chapters from the past life of the galaxies best bounty hunter.

A brief line from the man Fett swiftly kills to take power, Bib Fortuna, hints at the characters assumed demise in The Return of the Jedi, and many fans are hoping to hear the story of this miraculous escape.

The exact format of the new project is still unknown, with Disney still keeping details close to their chest, but the best guess is that we’ll be seeing a limited multi-episode series coming to Disney+ screen next Christmas.
