Disney+’s ‘Moon Knight’ Cast Adds Ethan Hawke to Play Unknown Villain

After Avengers: Endgame, I would imagine that it would be such an honor for any celebrity to join the MCU. Breaking record after record, you’d be surprised how voice-acting a tree for the franchise gives a better paycheck than most. Before we all wish we’re part of the superhero team, the latest biggest name to join the MCU is Ethan Hawke––setting up to join Disney+’s Moon Knight as the main villain.

However, no further details were provided about the role. Hawke, though, is a sure-fire addition to the cast following May Calamawy who’s also set for a “key role,” but still undisclosed to the public.

Reportedly, The Hollywood Reporter has suspected that Hawke will be playing Raoul Bushman––a mercenary and thief who leaves Marc Spector (played by Oscar Isaac) dead in the deserts of Egypt for some gold. Eventually, Spector comes back to life with the help of Khonshu, the lunar god. He accepts his duty as the Moon Knight and returns to the United States to live a life fighting crime during the night. Do you see why the superhero often gets compared to Batman now? Oh, and yes, Spector is also rich.

Directed by Mohamed Diab, Aaron Moorehead, and Justin Benson, Moon Knight is slated to begin shooting in Budapest this coming March. The Lazarus Effect and The Umbrella Academy‘s very own Jeremy Slater will be serving his duty as the showrunner.

On Friday, Marvel Studios started a revolutionary phase as they begin Phase Four on the small screens with their first Disney+ series, WandaVision.
