Emily in Paris Gets Greenlight for Season 3 and Season 4

Pop your champagnes as Netflix officially announced its green-lit for seasons 3 and 4 of the Darren Star rom-com series. We can’t help but be excited about the news, considering season 2’s cliffhanger ending.

What We Know About The Upcoming Seasons

Currently, not much has been shared about the show’s upcoming seasons. But we expect filming to take place over spring or summer at the Studios of Paris and in London. Star will begin writing the third season very soon. He is currently working on the Netflix series, Uncoupled.

How Has Emily in Paris Performed So Far

The second season of Emily in Paris was viewed for 107.6 million hours in its debut week, making it the 2nd most-watched tv show on Netflix’s Global Top Ten List for English content.
Emily in Paris also emerged as the 2020s most popular comedy series, with its premiere season receiving 58 million viewership in its first month.

Nonetheless, the rom-com series has fallen under scrutiny from many in the French audience, criticising its stereotypical and idealized painting of their country. The 2nd season received further criticism from the Eastern Europeans, with its gross portrayal of Petra, a Ukrainian pincher. Ukraine’s culture minister Oleksandr Tkachenko claimed the scene was offensive to the Ukrainian community.

Despite some pretty harsh reviews, Emily in Paris shows no sign of slowing down. And with its promising audience viewership status, we’re sure to keep seeing more of Lily Collins as Emily Cooper and her Paris adventures.
