Hilda and the Mountain King: Netflix Trailer and Release Date

A new family-friendly movie that everyone can enjoy over the holidays, Hilda and the Mountain King is based on a novel of the same name written and illustrated by Luke Pearson, the sixth book in a series of graphic novels about Hilda, a blue-haired young girl who has a lot of adventures.

The Netflix tagline reads: “When Hilda wakes up in the body of a troll, she must use her wits and courage to get back home, become human again — and save the city of Trolberg.”
Co-produced by Silvergate Media and Mercury Films, Hilda and the Mountain King stars Bella Ramsey as Hilda. Bella Ramsey is known for playing the fearless Lyanna Mormont in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones. The animated adventure also stars Ameerah Falzon-Ojo as Frida and Oliver Nelson as David.

The film Hilda and the Mountain King follows on from the Hilda series on Netflix, an animated series in which, the tagline reads, “Fearless, free-spirited Hilda finds new friends, adventure and magical creatures when she leaves her enchanted forest home and journeys to the city.”
Hilda seasons 1 and 2, which have won two Daytime Emmy awards and three Annie Awards, are available to watch on Netflix also, if you want more of the feisty adventurer!

The film follows Hilda as she finds herself lost in troll county, and her quest to reunite with her mother and her and friends. It will stream on Netflix from December 30th, 2021.
