Tanjiro Kamado

Playing the role as the main protagonist in the story, Tanjiro had his first major breakdown when all his family members were devoured by demons. Her sister Nezuko was the sole survivor but on a sad fate, she turned into a demon.

Tanjiro then vowed to bring Nezuko back  to her human form. He joined the demon slayer corps in hopes of finding the antidote for his sister.

Nezuko Kamado

Nezuko was only 12 when she was demonized. She has not shown any sign of ageing even when she turned 14 on the later part of the story.

Her being demonized came out as the reason for her stagnant physical appearance. It takes an antidote for her to get back in her human trait, which is a mission on Tanjiro’s end.

Although Nezuko was under the control of a demon, she’s able to manifest her sibling love to Tanjiro, making her unique among other demonized characters.

Zenitsu Agatsuma

Zenitsu is a bit older than Tanjiro. Some anime fan know how sharp is  Zenitsu’s ability to fight with a sword.

He acquired solid training way back his childhood days when he was Jigoro Kuwajima’s pupil. An indicator that Zenitsu is far from becoming incapable.

Inosuke Hashibira

Talk about arrogance and for sure, Inosuke could be on top of the list. Though he is strong enough to take care of himself, Inosuke oftentimes digs his own grave by assuming that he is far capable than the rest of the demon slayers.

He would deal a fight with someone who would possibly match his skill. In some cases, he would have a match with someone stronger than him.

Inosuke was raised by  boars in the wild. So you’d often see him wearing a pig-like head dress. Thus, he had a tough time adjusting to his human circle because he wasn’t used to the human environment.

But all thanks to his affiliation in the demon slayer corps, he slowly learned to accept his human side.

Kanao Tsuyuri

Kanao has a large and mesmerizing pink eyes with a hair styled in a ponytail. A stern upbringing pushed Kanao to shut herself off as a means of self-preservation.

As the story progresses, Kanao revealed her being too much dependence to people around her especially on decision making. In the event that it doesn’t work, she’d rely on chance to decide for her fate.

Genya Shinazugawa

Nothing is more tragic than seeing your mother devouring your siblings. This is the heart pounding story of Genya. What’s even worse, he saw his own brother killing his demonized mother.

Genya’s back story made him a character that is hard to deal with. He is a strong fighter with an ability to absorb demon powers.

Sanemi Shinazugawa

Any demon slayer won’t want to mess up with this Wind Hashira. His deceiving gaze is enough to melt his enemy in fear.

Sanemi is one of the strongest demon slayers, and he can inflict an unimaginable  depth of suffering to his enemies. That’s how strong he can be.

Giyu Tomioka

Giyu had his saddest point when he was saved by her sister from a demon at the expense of her own life.

Added to the weight of his emotion was when he tried informing people of his sister’s death only to receive rejection in the end.

Giyu’s experiences made him tougher as he moved along with his demon slayer role.

Shinobu Kocho

At first glance, one would tell that Shinobu had the friendliest trait due to her vibrant and smiling personality. But it was just her way of concealing her uncontrollable hatred to the demons who were killers of her younger sister, Kanae Kocho.

She can exude the most unbelievable attack a demon slayer could ever show. Shinobu doesn’t often throw a word to her fellow demon slayers. But when she does, it may be the most punchy words one could ever hear. And she even grins while doing it.

Tengen Uzui

Betrayed by his cruel father, Tengen believed that all his life is meant to work on attaining self-fulfillment regardless of its cost to anyone.

Worse, he was even tricked by his parents to slay his own siblings. The progress of his role began when he decided to have a leap of faith and walk away from the stern order of his father.

Mitsuri Kanroji

The presence of Mitsuri in the story is quite a pacifier to the heavy plot twists and turns. While other demon slayer are on a heavy mode of fulfilling their roles, Mitsuri plays the Love Hashira which offers a different plot ingredient.

Although her appearance may be brief at times, Mitsuri is bound to show off the tough side of her soft character.

Obanai Iguro

Obanai has a limited revelation of his character. But the fact that he’s a serpent hashira sounds like he has a blast to show off.

He’s a bit mysterious with a little trace of strength in his character yet. As the story progresses, viewers will soon have their share of witnessing the secret ability of this serpent hashira.

Muichiro Tokito

Uncaring and disinterested. These are two of the matched adjectives that may describe this mist hashira. Muichiro often isolates himself, making it hard for demon slayers to deal with him.

His personal tragedy speaks of the reason of how he plays his character in the present. He lack his memories making it tough for him to harness and shape his anger.

Gyomei Himejima

Gyomei is a bold, fierce and competent demon slayer. A stone hashira who has a much sense of loyalty as a demon slayer corps member. However, it wasn’t a guarantee of her full trust to other members.

Gyomei is a progressing character. There was a little back stories about him. However, the next season will gradually reveal the whole of his demon slayer ability.

Kyojuro Rengoku

The character of Kyojuro works on acting as the positive in a negative situation. Optimism is his distinct trait as a demon slayer.

His entrance to the plot came like a thunder. Kyojuro is energetic and  charming. Thus, he plays a blending character with Tanjiro.
