Kafka Asagiri began the commencement of a peculiar manga back in 2012. The manga, “Bungou Stray Dogs” is labelled peculiar due to the characters it features. Bungou Stray Dogs’ characters are based on late authors spanning gaps of centuries from each other, such as the Japanese author Dazai Osamu, who wrote “No Longer Human”, and Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, author of “The Great Gatsby”.
Kafka Asagiri’s brilliant take on the personalities, as well as the interaction between the authors depicts a breath-taking sight to witness.
Bungou Stray Dogs received an anime adaptation in 2016 by Studio Bones, which is a highly competent organisation that animated the likes of Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, and Noragami amongst many others. 3 seasons have aired so far, with the fourth expected to arrive later this year.

A stunningly winsome, wholesome, and wondrous adventure unfolds as we witness Atsushi, who is on the run from a dangerous tiger. The orphanage kicked out Atsushi as he was feared to be somehow responsible for the tiger’s appearance. Now leaving the only place he truly called home, Atsushi is left all alone.
He unexpectedly saves a man from drowning, who tells Atsushi that he was commuting suicide- and he says this with the brightest smile imaginable. Osamu Dazai is the lovable lunatic in question, who after learning of Atsushi’s problem offers to help him.

“The Armed Detective Agency”, a group dedicated to solving supernatural cases, consisting of Osamu Dazai, Doppo Kunikida, Yosano, and others sets its efforts towards Atsushi.
Through a bizarre, yet cunning plan Dazai is able to bait out the spiritual beast- only to see that the tiger is Atsushi himself. What’s even more intriguing is the fact that Dazai already suspected that, and thus begins your trek into Bungou Stray Dogs.
Every character is based off an author, and each of them has an “ability”. In this story by Kafka Asagiri, every character’s ability is the same name as their book. As can be seen with Dazai (Author), and his ability “No Longer Human” (Author’s Book).

In Bungou Stray Dogs, the way Kafka Asagiri has put the characters to use and devised such a plot that has multiple unforeseeable twists in it, is splendid to witness. Feelings, emotions, and goals are interpreted so heartily that they are not found in any other manga or anime at this state.

A teaser image seen below was revealed that was accompanied by a hopeful release date of 2022.
Though no exact date has been provided, we are certain that October, 2022 seems the best fit for an airing window.
If you haven’t watched the series yet, it’s the best time to dive right into it as you’ll have 3 amazing seasons to binge. The manga has about 21 volumes so you’ll have a lot of content till season 4 comes out.
