Look who decided to show up to the party! Locke & Key is finally renewed for a second season it’s heading to Netflix very soon. Here’s everything you need to know about Season 2!
What is Locke & Key all about?
Locke & Key is a fantasy horror series on Netflix based on Joe Hill’s comic series. The story revolves around three siblings who have just moved into a house full of magic, mysteries, and secrets hidden all throughout. The first season of the series dropping February of 2020 and boasted 10 episodes globally.
After what was a long road to television, a road that was supposed to lead to Fox and/or Hulu and not on Netflix, the reviews for the first season were astounding enough to warrant a second season. It was all the fuss before and there might not be enough reason to lose its momentum when the second season comes around.
Locke & Key Season 2 Netflix Renewal:
A month after the release of the first season, March 30th marked the announcement that Locke & Key was returning for Season 2. According to the series’ official Twitter account, the second season would mean more keys, demons, aloha––the latter being the most important one, personally.

The production of the series was so confident to receive a renewal they planned everything in advance. Soon after the first season released, they went on to actively develop the second season in Toronto, Canada. Showrunners Meredith Averill and Carlton Cuse spoke about this and said that even if the second season wasn’t greenlit just yet, they were already working in a room for Season 2.
Connor Jessup, who plays Tyler Locke for the series, also said that if the series does eventually get picked up, they’re ready for whatever the writers throw at them. He also added that the end of the first season sets up the second season effectively. Oh, that’s something to look forward to, then.
When is the release date of Locke & Key Season 2 on Netflix?
The second season of Locke & Key will be hitting the streaming giant in October 2021! Thanks to Netflix’s Geeked Week event, not only did we get the release month but also some exclusive pictures. And for that, Geeked Week might just be up there with my favorite Netflix events.
