‘Love Alarm’ Season 2: Confirmed for Next Season? Release Date and Recent Updates

Love Alarm has made its mark on the people. Not only that, but it has also been one of the most solid additions for Netflix––as far as K-Dramas go, that is. The first season has been nothing but exciting, and with a cliffhanger with the likes of season one’s, no wonder people are already asking for what’ll happen in the next season.

With that being said, it isn’t news at all that the K-Drama was renewed. Ever since it got its early renewal, people were expecting an equally early release––August 2020, in fact. However, this won’t be the case anymore as Love Alarm is actually delayed until 2021. Here’s everything you need to know about the renewal of, and when Love Alarm is coming back to the streaming giant!

For beginners, Love Alarm is a Netflix Original romantic-comedy series based on Chon Kye-Young’s webtoon of the same name. Despite the series being the fourth Korean Original series by Netflix, the series remains to be the first one to be ordered by the streaming giants themselves. Whatever Love Alarm had that the streamer’s past Korean Originals didn’t remain to be a mystery––a very effective one at that.

Korea always offers the best storylines for their dramas, and the series is no exception. As technology takes over the world and its people, even creating romantic relationships has never been easier. The story involves a dating app that goes viral in South Korea. The app tells the user if someone has romantic feelings for them, given that they’re 10 feet away from the user. For Jo-jo, this proves to be quite the dilemma as she gets caught in a love triangle between Hwang Sun-Oh, a handsome model, and her best friend, Lee Hye-yeong.

With that exciting of a storyline, people will now understand why K-Drama fans will be disappointed to learn that the release of the second season of Love Alarm will be delayed.

During the latter parts of August, there’s been confirmation that Love Alarm will be coming back to the streaming giant for a second season. However, the release date has been pushed way back to next year, 2021. The reason, of course, unsurprising to anyone at this point, is because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

As optimistic as it sounds, the future is bright for the series––and a full release date should be out as soon as everything clears up.

As for the cast, fans will be happy to know that they reunited for the script reading of the second season during the earlier parts of the year and the filming concluded on the 15th of June, 2020.

Good news, though, has come for the audiences as Love Alarm will surely be up for a second season. The streaming giant has announced the news on several of their social media accounts as well as a video of the cast members announcing the news courtesy of The Swoon.

The story leads to everywhere but cancellation. In fact, the story shouts a second season comeback. As the first season ends its debut for the streaming giant, we see that the application received its update for a 2.0 launch. Not only will they be able to find out whether or not someone has romantic feelings for them, but the application will also be able to monitor if someone 10 meters away loves them.

As the update goes live, we go back to the protagonist of the show, Jo-jo, as she discovers that not only Lee Hye-young loves her––but so does Hwang Sun-oh. Jo-jo, in this case, has one of the hardest decisions of her life. Does she reciprocate her best friend’s love, or does she go with the incredibly handsome and rich man?
