Netflix Orders DreamWorks’ ‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ for Season 2

A few months ago, a virtual press saw both producers and cast seem so demure when they were talking about a second season renewal of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. I mean, Netflix, obviously, doesn’t have the guts to end the DreamWorks-animated series after a wonderful first season, right?

To further put the nail on the coffin, the first trailer for the second season has been released, following the announcement of the renewal a couple of months back. Not only has DreamWorks provided an epic trailer, but they also gave a premiere date! That doesn’t happen very often when you’re working with Netflix. Either way, the second season of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will be coming to Netflix on the 22nd of January, 2021.

As far as the second story will go, the Mosasaurus has already taken down the Indominus Rex––but the whole of Isla Nublar is still hungry. However, the active volcano will be erupting soon and on the verge are the lives of the dinosaurs as well as Darius (Paul-Mikel Williams) and his friends.

I would imagine if we were to do more, it would definitely be set in a survival story, a get-off-the-island story, or ‘We just gotta make it’ story,” Scott Kreamer, showrunner/executive producer of the series, said during the virtual press for the first season.

We have built a real foundation here that if the audience chooses to let us forward, then we really can weave this quilt together in a way that I think is really new and exciting and pretty unexpected. All we need is permission from the audience to do so,” Colin Trevorrow, executive producer and Jurassic World writer and director, added.
