There are only three assured things in the world: death, taxes, and George Clooney in space. The year is less than a month from being over and from an entertainment business standpoint, 2020 still has a lot to offer (hopefully not pandemic-wise, however). One of which is George Clooney’s newest Netflix flick, The Midnight Sky, a post-apocalyptic space movie directed and starred by Clooney himself.
Recently, CBS Sunday Morning has been given an inside look into The Midnight Sky and alongside Clooney are the likes of Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo, Tiffany Boone, Kyle Chandler, Caoilinn Springall, and Demián Bichir. That’s a lot of talent working with Clooney, dare I say it.

The Midnight Sky is just about ready to blast-off before 2021 with Clooney both directing and starring in the film alongside Mark L. Smith’s adapted script from Lily Brooks-Dalton’s novel, Good Morning, Midnight.
In the movie, Clooney stars as a lonely scientist working in an Artic named Augustine. He was given a task to prevent a group of astronauts from returning to Earth after a global catastrophe has struck it.
Clooney has gone through extreme conditions just to create the perfect environment for the movie. According to the director/star, he shot a handful of scenes in the real-life arctic, placing himself in sub-zero conditions in Iceland. It’s been said that his eyelashes would freeze after a few minutes on set. The crew would then be ready to use a hair-dryer to at least keep it nice and comfy for their protagonist.
It isn’t Leonardo DiCaprio’s disgusting horse scene in The Revenant, but it’s ballsy.
