The British actress will be playing the role of Éile, a warrior, for the fantasy series The Witcher: Blood Origin. Set in an elven world 1,200 years before what we know of the world of the series, Blood Origin will be telling the story of the creation of the first prototype Witcher––indicating all the events that have lead to the unifying of the worlds of men, monsters, and elves.
Éile, on the other hand, is an elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess. She is said to have left her clan and her duties as Queen’s guardian to fulfill her dreams of becoming a nomadic musician. However, once judgment day comes, she’s forced to fulfill her quest in the hopes of vengeance and redemption.
Netflix should be proud of its acquisition considering that the British actress is really in-demand. After earning herself plentiful recognition and awards for starring in Queen & Slim alongside Daniel Kaluuya, her schedule’s been really busy with projects such as After Yang and Without Remorse with Michael B. Jordan which are both set to release this year.
However, this isn’t Turner-Smith’s first appearance with the streaming giant. In fact, she’s starred in a novella by the great George R.R. Martin’s Nightflyers series. Some of her most recent credits include Cinemax’s Jett, TNT’s The Last Ship, Amazon’s Mad Dogs, and HBO’s True Blood.
The resume speaks for itself. Congratulations, Netflix––you just bagged yourself a great actress.
