I think I speak for everyone in saying that Jonah Hill might be the last person you’d expect to direct the biggest of films––but he’s done it time and time again behind the camera. With no hesitation at all, Hill is back with his director’s hat for a second feature––a documentary for Netflix.
Not to downplay his acting repertoire, but the actor has also served as a writer and director on some occasions––debuting with 2018’s Mid90s and has even directed music videos for Sara Bareilles and Travis Scott.
So @JonahHill is making a doc about therapy for @netflix and I cant help but be emotional. Really excited.

Only recently did Hill announce his next project on Instagram, sharing photos behind-the-scenes and Dr. Phil Stutz––the subject of the untitled documentary. Known for working alongside Barry Michels for The Tools, Stutz worked as a prison psychiatrist on Rikers Island before practicing privately during the 80s.
Alongside the photos was a traditional heartfelt caption from Hill. In the caption, he revealed that Joaquin Phoenix is also involved in the Netflix documentary as a co-producer––which is something to look forward to as well.
