Sandra Oh and Awkwafina will be Starring in Netflix’s newest Untitled Comedy!

Oh my goodness. It’s happening! Awkwafina and Sandra Oh will actually be working alongside each other for an untitled new comedy from Netflix.

As an award-nominated pair, it isn’t a surprise that both of them are well sought-for for the feature film. The film will be produced by Jessica Elbaum, the spearhead of Gloria Sanchez. As for the script, Disney Plus’ Hocus Pocus writer Jen D’Angelo will be in-charge. In fact, D’Angelo has the career break of a lifetime––serving as a co-executive producer on NBC’s Young Rock that stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as well as Skydance’s sci-fi feature in The Tomorrow War. Alongside Elbaum will be Itay Ress and Maggie Haskins from Artists First to produce.

Sandra Oh will be starring as a recluse whose life was promised to get better as her sister (Awkwafina) vows to recover whatever’s left of their relationship by helping her chase a lifelong dream of appearing as a contestant on her favorite game show.

Wacky synopsis, but if anyone’s going to do that––it’s Oh and Awkwafina.

Awkwafina is represented by UTA, Artists First, attorney Isaac Dunhan, and Kovert Creative. Oh, on the other hand, is also represented by UTA––alongside that are Principal Entertainment LA, Imprint PR, and law firm Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller & Gellman L.L.P.

As far as both stars go, I don’t think anyone could’ve thought of a funnier duo in recent times.

This isn’t Awkwafina’s latest project, however, as she will also be lending her voice in Disney’s The Little Mermaid and Raya and the Last Dragon. She will also be starring in a major role for Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Sandra Oh, who’s mostly known for her role in Grey’s Anatomy and Killing Eve, will soon be featured in Netflix’s The Chair and Paramount’s Tiger’s Apprentice.
