Netflix to release a 10-episode comedy series set in the last Blockbuster Video store

Remember those days that we used to line up for blockbuster home videos? Long gone are the days as Blockbuster closed all its stores save for one due to bankruptcy.

Netflix has launched The Final Blockbuster Sitcom starring Randall Park, based on the last one of the Blockbuster stores left in the world located in Bend, Oregon. This sitcom will be the highlight of Netflix 2021.

The 10-episode TV show airs a community of employees in the remaining Blockbuster store who strive to keep their small business afloat in the face of hardship.

The Blockbuster pays a great tribute to the home video era and helps fans to get closure. Despite its bankruptcy that led to its dissolution, Blockbuster was once a video giant that experienced exponential growth in 2004 with over 85,000 employees and 9,000 stores all over the world.

Unfortunately, in the 2010s, the company started struggling financially due to mismanagement and stiff competition from big leagues like Netflix. Pending financial constraints, several Blockbuster stores started being closed in 2014.

Right now, the last of the Blockbuster outlets has recently been converted into an Airbnb that enables its guests to sit back and enjoy limitless Blockbuster videos. Quite several artists have also paid tribute to the once highly-esteemed video company, including Drake, who showcased a Blockbuster video wall on his 32nd birthday. You can feast your eyes on The Last Blockbuster series and hopefully get your long-awaited closure.
