Raising Dion Season 2: Official Release Date Announcement

Raising Dion is a series based on the 2015 comic book by Dennis Liu. It follows a mother and son, Nicole and Dion, as they navigate their way through life after the loss of Dion’s father, Mark. Life as a single parent is difficult enough already, but when Dion begins to show magical, superhero-like powers, Nicole must try to protect her son from those who might exploit him. 

Who is Behind Raising Dion? 

Michael B Jordan is an executive producer for the sci-fi drama series, and features as Dion’s father and Nicole’s husband Mark also. The series is also executive-produced by Carol Barbee, who serves as showrunner too.

Who Stars in Raising Dion? 

Dion is played by Ja’Siah Young, his mother Nicole by Alisha Wainwright, his father by Michael B Jordan, his friend Esperanza by Sammi Haney, and his auntie Kat by Jazmyn Simon.

What Happens in Season 2?

The official synopsis reads: 

‘Raising Dion follows the story of Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) and her son Dion (Ja’Siah Young) after Dion starts to manifest several mysterious, superhero-like abilities. Two years after defeating the Crooked Man (Jason Ritter), Season Two follows Dion as he continues honing his powers with the support of his mom and Tevin (Rome Flynn), his Biona trainer who catches Nicole’s eye. After befriending new student Brayden (Griffin Robert Faulkner) – a fellow powered kid – a series of alarming events unfold, and Dion learns that danger is still looming. Navigating twists, turns, and surprise visitors, Dion and Nicole must prevail again — not just to save themselves, but the entire city of Atlanta.’

The first season of Raising Dion is available to watch now on Netflix if you want to catch up before Season 2 starts on February 1st.
