The Mandalorian Season 2 Finale Tops IMDB Charts With 9.9 Rating

The Mandalorian season two finale is ranked joint second on tv and film database website IMDB with a review score of 9.9

The episode aired only a few days ago and has already moved up to legendary status, entertaining new fans with high octane action and striking an emotional chord with long time devotees of the Star Wars franchise.

In a suspense-filled episode which saw the Mandalorian Din Djarin finally fulfilling his two series long quest to find safety for a force-talented baby, fans finally got to see the showdown that had been building up for so long – Djarin Vs Moff Gideon.

The beskar against darksabre battle wasn’t the only huge moment – the finale also delivered two massive shocks that have left fans in a frenzy and may account for the show receiving such a high rating. First was the completely unexpected appearance of a post Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker – displaying a mastery of the force that we’ve been waiting to see for thirty years. The second was the post-credits mic-drop moment that announced that Boba Fett – fresh from the mouth of the Sarlaac, was to be the focus of yet another Disney+ Star Wars series.

These two momentous events are something that other TV shows simply cannot compete with – The Mandalorian creators dug deep into the trove of Star Wars lore and pulled out two characters that have been loved and adored for decades and interwove them beautifully with an already gripping storyline. This kind of emotional and even spiritual connection cannot be built in one or two or even ten series.

The Mandalorian tapped into a reserve of childhood love that so often seems to be used as fuel for dislike of new Star Wars projects, they got it as close to perfect as can be imagined and have been rewarded with a near-perfect 9.9 IMDB rating, sharing the score with hit episodes of lauded TV classics such as Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
