‘The Pursuit of Love’ will be giving us a good-vibe weekend

At the end of this week, The Pursuit of Love will be available on Amazon Prime Video. What is the plot of the British limited series, and why should you watch it? If you like Lily James, you’ll want to see her new Amazon Prime Video series.

What’s there to expect about ‘The Pursuit of Love’

The story revolves around two cousins. Linda Radlett, played by James, is a young woman on the lookout for love. She is enamored with all things romantic, but she isn’t looking for the usual man. She wants to have a good time and go on an adventure. Then there’s Fanny Logan, Linda’s cousin, who is played by Emily Beecham and narrates the series. Fanny admires her cousin, but this could be a recipe for disaster.

This is a hypersexualized serial that contains numerous references to adultery. It won’t appeal to everyone, but it’s nothing like the standard romance dramas currently on television. After all, not every woman in history was prim and proper. They desired adventure and fun, and now is the time to deliver it on our screens.  The novel is closely followed in the series. Andrew Scott’s Merlin, the bohemian lord of the next-door manor who outfits his whippets in jewels, leads a dramatis personae of eccentrics and wits, while Fanny’s horrific mother, “The Bolter,” is played by Mortimer herself. As the conflict draws nearer, the scattered Radlett clan gathers at the family house, and Fanny and Linda reunite. The Bolter has also joined them, in great spirits as usual, with a new sweetheart in tow.

Dominic West of The Wire and Dolly Wells of Dracula are among the important cast members, in addition to Lily James and Emily Beecham. Linda’s parents, Uncle Matthew, and Aunt Sadie Radlett are played by them. Lord Merlin, the Radletts’ eccentric neighbor, is played by Andrew Scott, and Fanny’s mother is played by Emily Mortimer. Louisa Radlett is played by Josh star Beattie Edmondson. Messiah‘s Assaad Bouab as Fabrice de Sauveterre, Penny Dreadful‘s Shazad Latif as Alfred Wincham, and White House Farm‘s Freddie Fox as Tony Kroesig are among Linda and Fanny’s love interests.

All three episodes are currently available on BBC iPlayer in the United Kingdom. The Pursuit of Love will launch on Amazon Prime Video in the United States on Friday, July 30.
