Zack Snyder Gives Updates About New Mythology Anime ‘Twilight of the Gods’

Zack Snyder has already had a busy year, and he’s about to have an even busier one. During Netflix’s Geeked Week event on Thursday, the director of Army of the Dead and Justice League unveiled the first look at his new Netflix anime Twilight of the Gods, which is based on Norse mythology.

Snyder wrote and produced the project, as well as co-writing it with Jay Olivia, who will also serve as showrunner, director, and executive producer on the series. Olivia worked on Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox in the past.

Sigrid is played by Sylvia Hoeks, Leif is played by Stuart Martin, Thor is played by Pilous Asbk, Odin is played by John Noble, Loki is played by Paterson Joseph, Andvari is played by Kristopher Hivju, Ulfr is played by Peter Stormare, Egill is played by Rahul Kohli, and Hrafnkel is played by Corey Stoll.

The show is billed as a “anime series” on Netflix, but that term can imply nearly anything. We haven’t seen much other than the characters, so we can’t comment on the style of animation. Twilight of the Gods has yet to receive an official release date or schedule from Netflix. It may take some time for viewers to find out when the Norse mythology anime will air, so mark your calendars now. At this time, is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2022.

As soon as Netflix releases a teaser, we’ll be sure to share it with you! Keep an eye out for additional Twilight of the Gods news as it becomes available!
