‘Titans’ Will Clash With ‘The Hunger Games’

The release date for Jonathan Liebesman’s Clash of the Titans 2 has been moved up a week – i.e. from March 30th to March 23th, 2012, Warner Bros. Pictures announced. This decision makes the Titans movie actually clash with another much expected masterpiece of another production studio – Lionsgate. The Hunger Games film directed by Gary Ross has long ago been scheduled for March 23th, so the question now is – whether it will stay on this date, or will it also be moved, and if so, then to where?
Clash of the Titans 2 starring Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, Edgar Ramirez and Rosamund Pike will be filmed in 3D (not converted post-factum), and has the following plot:
The mortal son of the god Zeus embarks on a perilous journey to stop the underworld and its minions from spreading their evil to Earth as well as the heavens.
As for The Hunger Games, many fans of the book behind the film are excited to know more about the auditions for acting in the movie, but the actors have not been selected yet, although there are lots of speculations online on who might actually star in the project. The film will presumably have the Twilight’s success if not more. The storyline of the film is as follows:
In a not-too-distant future, the United States of America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss’ young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart, Peeta, the son of the town baker who seems to have all the fighting skills of a lump of bread dough, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.
We are certain both movies will be a real hit, so let us hope we will be able to see them both, and preferrably not in a clash – i.e. on different dates.
