‘A Silent Voice’ Leaving Netflix in June 2021

The well-known anime film ‘A Silent Voice’ started streaming on Netflix in June 2019 but is now leaving after two years. Anime fans are shocked by the news. How could they ever watch their favorite anime film over and over again? Netflix is bound to remove ‘A Silent Voice’ on their website this June 2021.

‘A Silent Voice’ follows the story of Shoya Ishida and Shoko Nishimiya. It all starts when a grade-school student with an impaired hearing is extremely bullied. The girl protagonist, Shoko, then transfers schools in hopes to make her life better. Years go by, she and one of her bullies met again. The bully, Shoya, sets out a goal to make amends with the girl protagonist. With the surprising turn of events, the once bully is now the savior of Shoko when he saves her from a suicidal leap in her apartment’s balcony.

The anime film was first released in 2016, directed by Naoko Yamada. ‘A Silent Voice’ was welcomed by many anime fans and non-anime fans as well because of the story’s unique setup, plot, and a twist of events. It sets out important messages to their audience about self-forgiveness, the importance of friendship, and finding the meaning of living your life.

The anime film also reflects on a lot of aspects and makes viewers realize how important it is to treat each other kindly and how there is always a chance of redemption when you want to grow and forgive others’ shortcomings. It’s a pain to see such a great movie filled with life lessons be removed on Netflix.

Don’t miss the chance to watch ‘A Silent Voice’ while it’s still on Netflix!
