What We Know So Far About the Soon to Premiere Film ‘The Adam Project’

On January 7 2022, we received news that Netflix would release its original sci-fi film, The Adam Project, on March 11.

Shawn Levy gets to team up again with Ryan Reynolds for this highly anticipated film that involves the present uniting with the future to change the past. Yikes!

The Adam Project’s Synopsis

13-year-old Adam Reed is struggling to cope with his father’s death. One day he walks into a wounded pilot hiding in his garage, and it turns out that the pilot is Adam from the future. The older Adam travelled in secret to the past to find his younger self. The two embark on a time-travelling journey to the past to find their father and save the world.

This story reminds me of the Back to the Future classic blockbuster franchise. If you haven’t watched this three-part (1985, 1989 & 1990) film, I highly advise you to. Being the unchallenged best time travel movie in history, you won’t be disappointed!

The Adam Project’s Cast Members

Ryan Reynolds plays the role of adult Adam Reed, whereas the upcoming actor Walker Scobell plays the teenage Adam.

Reuniting after their love-packed performance in the 2004 rom-com film 13 Going on 30 is Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner, who play Adam’s parents.

Zoe Saldaña and Catherine Keener also star in the movie, but their roles are kept in the wraps for now.

Other casting calls for the film include Mellanie Hubert as Lexi, Ellie Harvie as a teacher, Lucie Guest as an actress, Ben Wilkinson as Derek, Alex Mallari Jr as Christos, Braxton Bjerken as Ray Dollarhyde, Kasra Wong as Chuck, Milo Shandel as a professor and Esther Ming Li as Sophie.

The Film’s Production Status

Shawn Levy produced and directed The Adam Project, while Jonathan Topper wrote the movie’s screenplay. Production was done by Skydance Productions together with Levy’s studio 21 Laps Entertainment. Filming began on November 18 2020, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and wrapped up on March 8 2021.

Stay tuned for the film’s official trailer from Netflix!
