‘Fear Street’: Netflix’s Horror Film Trilogy, Release Dates, Plot, Casts, and Trailer

On behalf of all horror-loving Netflix subscribers, I wish you all the best. For three consecutive weeks, you’ll be diving into the classic stories of the genre. The streaming giant’s Fear Street, based on R.L. Stine’s best-selling horror books, now boasts a teaser trailer and, excitingly, three separate release dates throughout July. It’s not even Halloween yet and we’re already being treated like this. Anyway, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming scares!

What is Fear Street all about?

A group of teenagers uncovers the horrifying events that have haunted their town for generations. However, what’s even more terrifying is how all these mysteries are connected––and judging by the patterns, they’re the next victims in line. Based on R.L. Stine’s horror series, the trilogy follows the sinister history of Shadyside.

Originally, the series of horror movies was supposed to take flight in theatres last year, June and August. The pandemic had other plans, though, just like every single movie and series that were supposed to be released in 2020. With the shutdown of theatres, the horror trilogy needed another plan.

The key art for the trilogy doesn’t look too horrific though. In fact, this might be the most pleasing horror poster of all time. Inspired by neon lights and probably GTA: Vice City, it resembles a familiar vibe. Oh, American Horror Story! Coincidentally, AHS also supported a format where they presented different stories with different characters.

When is the release date of Fear Street on Netflix?

Fear Street is a one-of-a-kind trilogy of movies on the streaming giant. Not only does it give you different stories per movie, but each movie has its own release date.

Part 1 (set in 1994) will be released on the platform on the 2nd of July; Part 2 (set in 1978) will be released on the 9th of July; Part 3 (set in 1666), on the other hand, will be released on the 16th of July. I think this will be the first and last time I’ll be writing three different release dates.
