The ridiculous, ludicrous, narrative with a surprising amount of heart. To be honest, we’d probably just sit there and watch Alan Tudyk watch paint dry. That’s how good he is.
Resident Alien is based on the Dark Horse comics and features a crash-landed alien named Harry (Alan Tudyk) on a covert mission to eliminate all humans. In season 2, Harry is stranded on Earth once more, where he must face the consequences of failing his people’s goal to exterminate humanity. Harry fights to maintain his alien identity as his human feelings grow stronger by the day on his new mission to safeguard the people of Earth.
In the Season 1 conclusion, Harry was forced to choose whether or not to carry out his original plan of annihilating humanity. With his device intact and ready to destroy, Harry’s humanity tugged at his heartstrings, and he chose to leave Earth exactly as he found it, thanks in part to a plea from Asta. However, after blasting off into space, he discovered young Max safely stowed away in his spaceship cabin, ensuring his return to Colorado.
Season 2 of Resident Alien will air on Syfy on Wednesday, January 26 at 9/8c, bringing Harry Vanderspeigle back to Earth for the second time.
