Lili Reinhart Is Casted On A Netflix Original Movie, ‘Plus/Minus’

Original film Plus/Minus will be produced by Netflix in collaboration with Wanuri Kahiu — who has been nominated for and won many accolades for her work — maintaining the company’s legacy of working with award-winning filmmakers.

Kahiu’s first film, From a Whisper, won her multiple African Academy Awards, but it was her second film, Rafiki, that made her a household celebrity. Rafiki was chosen for a Cannes Film Festival screening and garnered a standing ovation. Kahiu was also nominated for and received awards at other film festivals, including the Dublin International Film Festival and the Chicago International Film Festival.

The screenplay was written by debutante screenwriter April Prosser. Jessica Malanaphy of CatchLight Studio is also a producer, together with Reinhart and Alyssa Rodrigues of Screen Arcade. Bryan Unkeless and Eric Newman of Screen Arcade, who created the highly successful Power Project with Netflix, will also join the production.

Plus/Minus Plot and Other Details

The official logline for Netflix’s Plus/Minus was released on the day of the announcement by the streaming service:

“On the eve of her college graduation, Natalie’s life diverges into two parallel realities: one in which she becomes pregnant and must navigate motherhood as a young adult in her Texas hometown, the other in which she moves to LA to pursue her career. In both journeys throughout her twenties, Natalie experiences life-changing love, devastating heartbreak and rediscovers herself.”

The film will star Natalie Reinhart (Riverdale, Chemical Hearts). Danny Ramirez, who played in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is most likely Reinhart’s character Natalie’s love interest. Luke Wilson, Andrea Savage, and Aisha Dee have joined the cast together with David Corenswet, who acted in both The Politician and Hollywood for the streamer.

Netflix’s Plus/Minus does not have a release date yet, although it is expected to arrive in 2022.
