What You Need to Know About This New Netflix Film

This film is a family adventure picture produced by Oprah’s Harpo Films, and it features Chavis’ performance. Chavis is an 11-year-old boy who is attempting to save his leukemia-stricken mother in unusual methods. Oyelowo has stated that he is willing to put himself in harm’s way to meet the deadline for Lonnie’s daring film. He also stated that he believes sacrificial love is the most important quality that humans possess. In this regard, he considers anyone who puts their life on the line for someone else to be a hero. An 11-year-old boy’s manifest for his mother had only one thing that he discovered and considered quite moving.

In an interview with Variety, David Oyelowo explained how the picture came together and disclosed that it was inspired by screenwriter Emma Needell’s childhood:

“Emma Needell had written “The Water Man” based on her childhood, and I had talked about my desire to find this kind of project to either produce or create. It was my agents at CAA who brought me to the script.

Emma had several offers at the time to make the film, but I think we connected over the fact that I grew up loving this kind of film and didn’t see people who look like me reflected in those kinds of films. I wanted to play the father in this film, which would instantaneously make this a family of color. Even though that’s not how it was written, she loved that idea, and that was what bonded us.”

The film features an interesting cast, with David Oyelowo portraying Amos Boone and Rosario Dawson portraying his wife Mary Boone. Lonnie Chavis, who plays Gunner Boone, is the show’s star, and he’s partnered with Amiah Miller, who plays Jo Riley. There are also notable actors in the picture, such as Alfred Molina and Maria Bello, who play noteworthy roles.
