Showrunner of 13 Reasons Why makes a psychological thriller with Netflix: ‘Echoes’

The Netflix crew has announced a new psychological thriller limited series called Echoes. As part of his multi-year deal with Netflix for series and other projects, Brian Yorkey (13 Reasons Why) will take on the executive producer and co-showrunner positions as the first offering in his overall contract. Vanessa Gazy (Eden), an Australian executive producer, and executive producer/co-showrunner Quinton Peeples devised and wrote the seven-episode order (Runaways).

About ‘Echoes’: Plot and Other Exciting Details

Leni and Gina, two identical twins who share a frightening secret, star in the thriller Echoes, which is cloaked in mystery. The doppelgangers have covertly swapped lives since they were toddlers, culminating in a double life as adults: they share two homes, two husbands, and a child, but when one of the sisters goes missing, everything in their flawlessly choreographed world is thrown into disarray. There has been no information yet on who will portray the two lead roles as of yet.

Because casting for the new limited series Echoes has only just begun, we won’t see any episodes on Netflix for some time. Seven episodes will make up the limited series, and it will surely be a hit follwoing the success of Yorkey’s  13 Reasons Why. In an interview with Deadline, the producer told his feelings about this new thriller:

“I’m so excited to be embarking on Echoes with Quinton, Vanessa, Imogen, and the Netflix team — and I’m eagerly looking forward to what I hope will be many more years of making cool stuff with Netflix,” Yorkey said. “It’s a privilege and an unmatched thrill to make a television show that reaches around the world on the instant it launches — and an incredible opportunity not only to entertain and surprise, but maybe even say something that matters about the way we live now.”
