‘Sisyphus: The Myth’: Netflix’s Upcoming Fantasy K-Drama Rocks the World

It looks like the eastern part of the world is also doing the entertainment business some justice. K-Drama, in particular, has been one of the biggest revelations of the decade. Not only has it piqued the interest of streaming platforms, but it’s been delivering results day in and day out. With that, K-Drama fans will be receiving another fantastic year with Netflix as one of their newest Originals consists of jTBC’s newest Sisyphus: The Myth––and here’s everything you need to know about the K-Drama series.

Sisyphus: The Myth is an upcoming Netflix Original fantasy series written by Jeon Chan Ho and Lee Je In alongside director Jin Hyeok from Queen of Conditions and The Master’s Sun. Stay light on your feet, however, as the first episode of the K-Drama series will be premiering on the streaming giant on the 17th of February, 2021.

New episodes of the series will be made available every Wednesday and Thursday until the 8th of April, 2021. With a total of 16 70-minute long episodes, the synopsis for Sisyphus: The Myth is as follows (according to Newsen):

Han Tae Sul, a co-founder of Quantum and Time, is a genius engineer with the highest level of coding skills and outstanding looks that outweighs his engineer fashion sense. Due to his innovative achievements, Quantum and Time is a world-class company, dubbed as “The Miracle of South Korea’s Engineering Industry”. In reality, Tae Sul has caused his company’s stocks to constantly fluctuate after the death of his brother ten years ago. One day, after witnessing the unbelievable truth of his brother’s death, he sets off on a dangerous journey.

Kang Seo Hae is a soldier who could zipline from building to building, fight big built men with her bare hands, shoot guns, and install explosives. With the survival skills that she’s learned from living amongst gangsters and warlords, she sets off a dangerous path of finding Han Tae Sul.

If you find some names familiar, then you might have seen K-Dramas like StrangersDoctorsHospital Playlist (a personal favorite), Crash Landing on You (another personal favorite), and Sweet Home. At this point, subscribers can look forward to seeing some familiar faces like #Alive‘s Park Shin Hye and Crash Landing on You‘s Jeon Gook Hwan.

If you’re wondering how Sisyphus: The Myth will perform in its home country, you don’t have to be worried. Luckily, jTBC occupies three out of the top ten spots in the highest-rated cable TV dramas in Itaewon Class, Sky Castle, and The World of the Married––the latter snagging the number one spot on the list.

However, as Sisyphus: The Myth does air on Wednesdays and Thursdays, reaching the top 10 would be a far reach––but it isn’t impossible, to say the least. Despite that, K-Dramas always do well in foreign countries either way and everyone’s still expecting the best from the entertainment business––foreign or not.

Here’s the trailer for the fantasy series!
