This Netflix Thriller Series Only Has 7 Episodes and Will Force You to Binge Watch It

You have no plans for the weekend and don’t know what to watch. Well, we bring you this Netflix thriller series that only has seven episodes and will force you to binge watch it. We’re talking about The Watcher, one of Ryan Murphy’s recent hits along with Dahmer.

Based on a Terrifying True Story

There is nothing more terrifying than real life and The Watcher proves it, as it is based on a chilling true story. The story focuses on a family that moves into a new house to start a new life. However, they begin receiving anonymous letters stalking them and claiming to know everything they do at all times.

Inspired by a Real Case in 2014

And although many details have been changed to add more dramatization, this actually happened in 2014 to the family of Derek and Maria Broaddus, a happy couple and parents of three children who had always fantasized about moving to New Jersey and thus fulfilling her dream of living near the house where she grew up.

Three days after their purchase, the father, who is starting renovations, receives the first anonymous letter signed by The Watcher and addressed to the “new owners”. A strange letter that starts cordially but whose tone quickly hardens.

Who sleeps in the room facing the street? I’ll know as soon as you move in. I could find out who is in which room so my plan will be even better.

With this premise, Ryan Murphy created the series The Watcher. And such was its success that it has been renewed for a second season where it is expected to feature another true story of a ‘stalker’ like the one in the first season whose main cast is made up of Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale, Mia Farrow, Margo Martindale, Jennifer Coolidge and Terry Kinney, among others.
