The Gilded Age, a new HBO series, will premiere on Sky Atlantic in January 2022

After the series was first announced in 2019, the wait for The Gilded Age appeared to last an eternity. 

However, first look photographs and a trailer for the nine-part series have finally been released, allowing fans to see the star-studded cast for the first time. 

Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson), an aspiring writer, has her life turned upside down when she relocates from rural Pennsylvania to New York City to live with her old money aunts Agnes van Rhijn (Baranski) and Ada Brook (Nixon). 

When will The Gilded Age be released? 

The Gilded Age will broadcast on HBO in the United States on January 24, 2022. 

On January 25, 2022, the series will premiere on Sky Atlantic and NOW in the United Kingdom.

What is the storyline about? 

Marian Brook, the destitute daughter of a Southern general, comes in with her sternly conventional aunts in New York City in 1885, during the Gilded Age. Marian becomes caught up in the sparkling lives of her rich neighbors with the help of Peggy Scott, an African-American woman posing as her maid, as she battles to determine whether to follow the rules or forge her own path in this thrilling new world.

A trailer has been released, offering viewers their first look at the pandemonium Marian finds herself in when she arrives to New York City to live with her wealthy aunts. 

Marian’s obstinate aristocratic aunt Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) and George Russel had a falling out in the clip (Morgan Spector).
