Among the long list of what you should watch out for in Netflix in 2021 is Syfy’s The Magicians which returned for its fifth and, unfortunately, final season. Having been finished from last January to April of 2020, the series will finally be making its way to the streaming giant in January of 2021.
If you’re not familiar with the series, The Magicians is one of the best sci-fi TV series worldwide. Unfortunately, the series hasn’t gotten the number of views and attention it deserves. The series is about a student who enters a specialist college that trains in, you guessed it, magic!
From the 15th of January to the 1st of April, 2020, Syfy ran the sci-fi series and has received a ton of positive reviews from both audiences and critics alike.
As for Netflix, luckily for the series, it found its second home in the streaming giant. So far, the platform has released the series’ season on the following dates:
- Season 2 arrived on Netflix on December 12th, 2017
- Season 3 arrived on Netflix on December 24th, 2018
- Season 4 arrived on Netflix on December 16th, 2019
Considering that every single season of the sci-fi series came out in December, it wouldn’t be a stretch to expect the same for the fifth season to release in December 2020. However, Netflix has already confirmed that the series is, indeed, coming out on the 15th of January, 2021.

Though many of Syfy’s series will be coming to NBC Universal’s platform, Peacock, The Magicians will be remaining on the streaming giant because of a legacy contract. Don’t worry about missing out on one of the best sci-fi series you’ll be able to watch, it won’t be leaving Netflix soon.
