‘The Mothership’ Starring Halle Berry Adds More Characters

Award-winning actress Halle Berry has signed on to feature in and executive produce Netflix and MRC Film’s The Mothership in February this year. Matthew Charman, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his work on Bridge of Spies, penned the script and will be directing the film in his feature directorial debut.

‘The Mothership’ Synopsis

The story revolves around Sara Morse (Berry) one year after her husband inexplicably vanished from their rural property. Sara and her children go on a race to find their husband, father, and, most importantly, the truth after discovering a weird, extraterrestrial item beneath their home. The family go onto an adventure to seek for their missing member.

Additional Casting

The Mothership, a sci-fi adventure film from MRC Film, Automatik, and Netflix, has boarded Omari Hardwick, John Ortiz, and Molly Parker.

Hardwick is best known for his role in Starz’s blockbuster drama Power, and he is presently acting in Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead with WME, SMAC Entertainment, and Sloane Offer as his agents. Ortiz is repped by Gersh and Principal Entertainment LA, and his recent projects include Horse Girl, SXSW thriller The Fallout, and the Netflix series Messiah. Parker is an Emmy nominee who stars in the Netflix series Lost in Space and in the drama film Pieces of a Woman where CAA and Circle of Confusion represent her.

Berry’s in-development initiatives don’t end there. She will also act alongside Mark Wahlberg in the Netflix spy thriller Our Man From Jersey. She also appears in Apple’s Number One on the Call Sheet, a pair of documentaries honoring Black leading women and men in Hollywood. Berry’s directorial debut film, Bruised, a mixed martial arts drama that premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, was recently picked up by Netflix. She also has a role in Roland Emmerich’s upcoming science fiction film Moonfall.
