Netflix’s never-ending quest to be at the top of all streaming companies continues, and this time it promises to deliver fresh content for lovers of British films and TV shows.
Let’s see which ones they are:
The first one is the re-adaptation of the Classic Romance movie, “One Day” (2011) from David Nicholls’ novel, Always The Same Day. Starring popular actors including Anne Hathaway, Jim Sturgess and Patricia Clarkson, this film obtained a 7/10 rating on IMDb and 36% rotten tomatoes.
Netflix announced that the remake will not be a movie but a TV series. Nicole Taylor, a winner of the BAFTA Awards, is already on board with writing the show’s script, along with Anna Jordan, Bijan Sheibani and Vinay Patel.
Second on the list is Supacell, a super-fiction series. Its plot is about a group of people living in South London who discover that they have new superpower abilities.
The third is the thriller series called Eric. The show’s writer Abi Morgan tells an 80s story of a child who goes missing in Manhattan. His puppeteer father eventually finds solace in Eric, the monster that resides under his lost son’s bed.
The Fuck It Bucket by Ripley Parker is another that tells the story of an unusual girl who is fighting the dreaded battle against anorexia nervosa. The show will be produced by Left Bank Pictures that also produced The Crown (won 21 Primetime Emmys) TV series that premiered on November 4 2016.
Kaos by Charlie Covell, the creator of the British dark comedy-drama, The End of the F***ing World, is the last on the list. The show explores a contemporary theme for Greek mythology.
