“Elite”: An Original Cast Member Returns for the Eighth and Final Season

After eight seasons, “Elite” comes to a conclusion.

On October 20th, the 7th season premiered with the announcement that the upcoming eighth season will conclude the story of Las Encinas High School. However, it wouldn’t be a proper finale without a return of some original cast members.

“Elite” started with actors who gradually left the show as new seasons were introduced. Only Omar Ayuso, one of the original cast members, remains in the seventh season of this successful series created by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona. But in the final installment, another character from the first season will return to Las Encinas.

Mina El Hammani, who portrays Nadia in the series, will reappear at Las Encinas alongside two new students: Ane Rot (“The Criminal Readers Club”) and Nuno Gallego (“UPA Next”). Another character making a comeback, albeit from the newer cast, is Chloe’s mother, played by Maribel Verdú.

The seventh installment of “Elite” doesn’t begin with a mystery or murder. Instead, it focuses on mental health as its central theme throughout the eight episodes. In a recent interview with a popular news magazine, co-creator Carlos Montero was asked if he had in mind a special episode featuring the original cast or any other well-known character making an unexpected return:

“We tried to return a bit to the themes and intrigue of season 1. I believe this season is designed to provide a grand finale.”

Although Montero mainly discussed the nature of the eighth season, its status as the final one could mean more original cast members might return. Those potentially rejoining for the 8th season of “Elite” include Jaime Lorente, Danna Paola, Miguel Bernardeau, Ester Expósito, and Arón Piper.

“Elite” season 7 is now fully available on Netflix.
