Netflix’s Resident Evil Series Filming Well Underway – Here’s a Short Teaser

The survival horror game, Resident Evil, was developed by Capcom and released for the PlayStation in 1996. There has since been another 16 Resident Evil games released, as well as a number of action-horror movies based on the popular games, starring Milla Jovovich as Alice, a kick-ass zombie killer. The franchise is hugely popular, and it was no surprise to hear that a live-action series of Resident Evil would be coming to Netflix. Production was held up a couple of times over the past year or so, but finally, filming of the show is well underway and the series is due to be released on Netflix in 2022. The series is expected to focus on the Umbrella Corporation, and what happens in the world now that the population has to deal with the T-virus.

We get a first look at Resident Evil through a 10-second teaser found online, which shows us a Doberman walking towards the camera, looking like a perfectly normal lovely dog, until it turns its face and we realize it is, in fact, a zombie dog.

The story is expected to jump between timelines, the first featuring two teenage sisters who have relocated to New Raccoon City. They find out over the course of the episodes that the T-virus outbreak may have something to do with their father.

The second timeline brings us to about 15 years later, where we follow one of the sisters (we don’t really want to find out what happened to the other one!) as she survives in a world where over 6 billion people and animals have been infected with the T-virus.

We predict that the series won’t be released until late next year, as filming has not wrapped as of yet. Something to look forward to!
