The Fifth and Final Season of HBO Max’s ‘Search Party’ Premieres on January 7th

Search Party returns for its fifth and final season, with Dory (Alia Shawkat) seemingly running a cult with Jeff Goldblum just after mayhem of Season 4, while her comically self-absorbed peers question what’s going on. The dramedy series has transformed itself every season, becoming one of the most shocking and binge-worthy shows on television in recent years. It originally centred on a group of friends searching for a missing lady.

So, what’s next?

Dory will become business partners with a charming tech billionaire named Tunnel Quinn (played by Jurassic Park’s Jeff Goldblum) in Season 5, following a near-death experience. “Dory pulls her old pals Portia, Elliott, and Drew into the effort as they go on an altruistic but perilous quest,” according to the official synopsis.

The finale stars

Hairspray director John Waters, Aparna Nancherla, Grace Kulenschmidt, Greta Titelman, Larry Owens, Joe Castle Baker, and Michelle Badillo are among the season’s guest stars, as is comedian Kathy Griffin as Liquorice Montague, a conspiracy theorist who will take Claire McNulty’s Chantal under her wing as a “co-dependent apprentice.” Marc will also be played by Jeffery Self.
