Anthony Mackie to Star and Produce in Netflix’s Upcoming Thriller, ‘The Ogun’

We know how much of you were disappointed after news broke that Netflix’s sci-fi series Altered Carbon was canceled earlier in 2020. Well, the good news here is that at least one of your most beloved stars from the series kept his ties with the streaming giant: Anthony Mackie who’s set to produce and star in Netflix’s upcoming thriller in The Ogun.

Written by Dark Knight Rises stuntman Madison Turner, The Ogun revolves around the story of a man who travels to Nigeria in the hopes of finding a cure for what seems to be a mysteriously incurable genetic disorder his daughter got from him. After his daughter being kidnapped, he does everything he can to get back everything he’s lost.

As insane as that sounds, there’s really not many details going on here. What exactly are Anthony Mackie’s powers? Who are starring in the thriller? Either way, there’s some excitement boiling as The Ogun does actually sound like it lives up to its genre.

As far as anyone’s concerned, The Ogun is the latest of Anthony Mackie’s projects for the streaming giant. Aside from the fact that he took over the lead role in Altered Carbon––previously held by Joel Kinnaman––he’s also been featured in an episode of one of Netflix’s best, Black Mirror.
