Hulu’s ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Renewed for Season 5: Plot, Cast, and Release Date

One of the best dystopian series, The Handmaid’s Tale, has finally been renewed for a fifth season according to Disney!

A very bold statement and renewal from Disney considering that the fourth season of the dystopian series has yet to drop. However, during the Investor Day presentation last December 10, the Margaret Atwood novel-based series will be shooting the fifth season while also teasing a couple of images for the fourth season. No spoilers, but all we can say is that June comes face-to-face with her daughter with only glass separating the two.

The fourth season comes as one of the most anticipated seasons of the series as it will be following the character development of June from Gilead’s slave to a rebel leader. Alongside that, Elisabeth Moss will also be making her directorial debut starting with the third episode and a handful of other ones in the season.

We’re very grateful to Hulu and MGM that the show will be returning for a fifth season, and especially to our loyal fans for their support. We are thrilled to be able to continue to tell these stories, with our incredible cast and crew, and can’t wait to be back on the air with season four next year,” Bruce Miller, series creator and showrunner says.

The series stars big names such as director Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, O-T Fagbenle, Amanda Brugel, Bradley Whitford, and Sam Jaeger.

As you’re reading this, the production of The Handmaid’s Tale is currently being worked on. Reportedly, the dystopian series will premiere on Hulu in 2021.
