Sanjay Dutt’s Back: Bollywood’s ‘Torbaaz’ is Coming to Netflix this December

Netflix’s biggest target is hard to miss. On the 11th of December, they’ll be giving subscribers from India a treat they couldn’t refuse in Sanjay Dutt’s Torbaaz. The Bollywood film was announced last July alongside other Bollywood titles Ludo and A Suitable Boy.

Dutt took it to Twitter to share what seems to be the trailer and announce the specific release date of the film, saying:

It’s when good people do nothing that the bad guys win! #Torbaaz, premiering 11 December, only on @NetflixIndia @NargisFakhri @RahulDevRising #RajuChadha @rahulmittra13 @malik_girish #PuneetSingh,” Dutt wrote on Twitter.

Set in Afghanistan, Torbaaz circulates around the story of child suicide bombers. The 61-year-old Dutt plays the role of an army officer who makes an effort to give some sense of hope for the children of war. Directed by Girish Malik, the film also stars Rahul Dev and Nargis Fakhri.

The producer and one of the characters of the film, Rahul Mittra, said that the whole team is happy about the film’s belonging in the streaming giant.

Torbaaz is a very special film. It is about these bunch of kids who had nothing and he (Dutt) brought them cricket, in the hopes of a better life. We are elated that our labour of love is premiering on Netflix,” Mittra told PTI.

What makes this film extra special is Dutt’s return from overcoming his battle with lung cancer after announcing in August that he was going to take a break from any professional projects and commitments to give way for his health. After his victory against cancer, he thanked the fans and all those who wished him well for the support during his tough journey.

Here’s the official trailer from the streaming giant!
