Vinland Saga is a historical manga that was written by Makoto Yukimura. The anime adaptation of this hit manga series made a lot of fans excited during its first airing last 2019. It also won the Anime Of The Year Award at the 6th Anime Trending Awards 2019. Its season 2 is officially confirmed and in a few months, we will be able to watch the continuation of this amazing Viking anime series.

All About Vinland Saga

The story of this award-winning series was set in 1013 AD England. It revolves around the revenge of a young boy named Thorfin the son of Thors one of the strongest Vikings of his era. Thorfin immediately plans to assassinate the one who killed his father and while executing his plan he got defeated by the enemy. The enemy saw the potential in Thorfin and he kept him alive. With an unexpected deal, Thorfin became one of the people who fight for Askeladd the one who killed his father while hoping that he could challenge him to a duel and kill him for his revenge.

Thorfin grew up with Askeladd’s band while fighting strong opponents along their adventure. After surviving countless battles they returned to the homeland of Askeladd’s mother Wales. Thorfin did not know that Askeladd was planning to sacrifice himself and kill the prince of the kingdom to avoid the coming political disputes. He was devastated to see that Askeladd died after killing the prince because he was not about to kill Askeladd with his own hand.

What To Expect With Vinland Saga Season 2

If we are going to base it on the manga, we could assume that Thorfin will become the leader of Askeladd’s band and plan to disband it to leave a peaceful life like what his father Thors dreamed of.

What Studio Will Make Vinland Saga Season 2

After seeing the trailers it is confirmed that MAPPA has taken over the animation from Wit Studio. Vinland Saga Season 1 got an amazing animation, especially in the fight scenes which made its fans go crazy about it. On the other hand, MAPPA also produced a lot of quality animations like Attack on Titan, Jujutsu No Kaizen, Dororo, and Chainsaw Man. With that being said we can expect that Vinland Saga Season 2 animation will be amazing as well.

Release Date

Vinland Saga Season 2 is set to have its premiere on January 9, 2023. I’m sure all of us are very excited after hearing this news after being left with a cliffhanger on season 1.
