The Witcher Season 2: When Is It Hitting Netflix?

It’s been a gruesomely long two-year wait for Netflix to drop the second season of The Witcher but finally, it is here! With only two days left until season two’s premiere, fans are eagerly waiting to feast their eyes on its eight episodes, each running for approximately 40 minutes.

So, it’s official! The Witcher Season 2 will hit Netflix on Friday 17 December. The Witcher Twitter account graced us with a one-minute Netflix preview of the series’ 2nd premiere showing a brief interaction between Tissaia and Yennefer.

The Witcher’s first season was a huge success, sparking the release of video games and novels based on the iconic universe. With the return of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, you’ll finally get to quench your suspense thirst to the show’s previous season cliffhangers.

Who is Starring in Season 2?

Joining Cavill are favorite old faces, including Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe and Joey Batey as Jaskier.

Three iconic witchers will join the list of characters in season 2. While the third member is unconfirmed, the other two are Coen played by Yasen Atour and Lambert played by Paul Bullion.

Sadly, the role of Eskel has been recast in this season due to clashing schedules prompted by the global pandemic. Basil Eidenbenz will take over the role from Thue Ersted Rasmussen.

What To Expect From Season 2

While most of season two’s plot has been kept under the wraps, expect to see the reignition of a father-daughter relationship as Ciri and Geralt become closer.
