Mandalorian Season 3: Production Update, Release Date and All You Need to Know

It’s no secret that Disney doesn’t do anything half-heartedly, and following the season two conclusion of The Mandalorian, viewers are now eager to learn more about what lies next for the series. As a result, unplug your headphones. Make it a point to shout it from the rooftops. You might wonder why— because Mando and Grogu are back, and they’re bringing the party.

There is little doubt that season three is on its way, which is fantastic news for fans of Mando and his adorable muppet buddy.

The question is, when precisely will we be able to see it? And in what shape will it manifest itself? And therein lays the solution to the riddle. After all, there’s a steady stream of Star Wars spin-offs being published as well, with The Book Of Boba Fett already on our screens and Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Andor on their way.

Here’s all you need to know about the third season of The Mandalorian.

There will be spoilers below.

Exactly what will The Mandalorian Season 3 be about?

It appears like Din Djarin will have a new quest for the upcoming season. The fifth episode of The Book of Boba Fett opens up with Mando on the hunt for the last remaining Mandalorians. When he locates them, the Armorer instructs him on how to use the Darksaber, and Paz Vizsla immediately engages him in combat over it. Friends! What else is there to say? After winning the battle, Mando confesses to the Armorer that he removed his mask during the Season Two conclusion. It’s hard to blame a father for wanting to spend some quality time with his beloved alien son during the Season Two finale. The Armorer excommunicates him from the clan, claiming that the only way for him to redeem himself is to travel to the mines of Mandalore, which are no longer in existence. Mando, on the other hand, is determined to do something, traveling to Sedaris’s Peli Motto in search of a new ship. The return of Mando to the show in Season Three will very surely be motivated by a desire to reconcile with the last of his people, which will most likely be accomplished by a trip to his home planet.

How Long Will It Take For Season 3 of The Mandalorian To Be Released?

The good news is that there will be no shortage of Star Wars entertainment in the future, since a number of spin-offs, including Obi-Wan, are now in the planning stages. While this is good news, the —somewhat— bad news is that The Mandalorian Season Three will premiere later than previous seasons, with Disney delaying announcing an official release date for the time being.

Keeping this in mind, it’s probable that the program will now premiere in the autumn/winter of 2022 instead of earlier. This is to account for filming as well as the time-consuming process of CGI and special effects that is required to fully bring the program to life on screen.

Who will be a part of The Mandalorian’s third season cast?

The season two finale aired earlier this month, and we expected that Pedro Pascal would reprise his part as the main character, likely with assistance from stunt doubles Barry Lowin, Brendan Wayne, and Lateef Crowder. Also expected was the presence of Grogu (better known as Baby Yoda), another well-known actor who had previously appeared on the show.

We were led to assume that the post-credits sequence may have been used to build up a whole new plot with Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) because the conclusion of their story felt so decisive. This is The Book of Boba Fett, which is not really a Mandalorian plot per such, but rather a spin-off that takes place concurrently with the Mandalorian arc.

Fortunately, now that we know that Boba Fett will have his own show, we can rest confident that Pedro, and perhaps Grogu, will actually return in season three of The Mandalorian: The Last Stand.

Is there a trailer for season 3 of The Mandalorian available?

Not for the time being, at least. When the program draws closer to its premiere, we may expect to see our first peek at the upcoming season.
