Apple TV+ Renews Documentary Series ‘Prehistoric Planet’ For a Second Season

Jon Favreau and Mike Gunton couldn’t be happier than when Apple TV+ renewed their super-hit nature documentary TV series, Prehistoric Planet, for the second season.

The renewal news was revealed approximately four days ago on Apple TV Plus’ main Twitter account in a post containing a 32-second video clip and a caption, “New dinosaurs. New habitats. New season.” The post also revealed the launch date for the upcoming season.

When Did Prehistoric Planet First Premiere?

In May 2019, sources announced that Apple had ordered a new documentary show titled Prehistoric Planet with Favreau as the chief producer.

The first season arrived in May 2022 with five episodes, attracting 8.5/10 stars on IMDb and an incredible 100% average Tomatometer reinforced by a 94% average audience score.

What’s the Premise of Prehistoric Planet?

Prehistoric Planet tells the origin and stories of wild and splendid dinosaurs from 66 million years ago, with creatures re-made with computer-generated imagery technology.

The new season brings new dinosaur chronicles to the fans while expounding on some creatures covered in the first installment.
