Netflix Renews French Crime Series ‘Ganglands’ for Second Season

Netflix announces its renewal of the 2nd season of Ganglands, known as Braqueurs: La sèrie in French. Netflix France made the official announcement on Twitter on Monday 22nd November that Ganglands would be returning for season 2.

They quoted, “*on remet notre cagoule*. Braqueurs Saison 2, prochainement” that translates to “*we put out hood back on* Ganglands Season 2, coming soon.”

However, as we celebrate this good news, we’ll have to wait a couple of months for Netflix to acquire sufficient statistics to give the second season a go-ahead.

Given that season 1 ended in suspense, it lays the perfect foundation for season 2, with Medhi being a fugitive taking with him a young gangster.

Created by Julien Leclercq and Hamid Hlioua, this action-packed series was first launched on Netflix on September 24th, compiled into a season of six episodes.

How Did Season 1 Perform on Netflix?

The show made it to the top of Netflix TV shows globally only six days after its launch, where it was #4. It accrued 114 points on Netflix France after dominating the top 10 list for almost three weeks and topping the list for 14 days.

In three weeks between 20th September and 10th October, Ganglands had gathered an impressive viewership of 54.5 million around the world.
