The Break is a gripping crime drama series set in the stunning Belgian Ardennes, with a talented cast led by Yoann Blanc as Yoann Peeters, with Guillaume Kerbush as Sébastian Drummer, Jasmina Douieb as the psychiatrist Jasmina Orban, and Sophie Breyer as Yoann’s daughter, Camille.
After a painful family tragedy, Inspector Yoann Peeters leaves Brussels and moves back to his quiet rural hometown, the small town of Heiderfeld, with his daughter Camille. When the body of a young football player, Driss Assani, is pulled from the nearby river, the news sends shockwaves through the town. The young man’s cause of death is at first thought to be suicide, but the Inspector soon suspects that there is more to his death than meets the eye.
The murder case exposes corruption, unearths deeply unsettling old secrets, and presents Inspector Peeters with challenges that he must struggle to overcome.
In Season two of the thrilling show, the inspector finds himself with another murder to solve. However, this time Inspector Peeters must try to prove the innocence of the suspect, a former convict who worked for the victim, who was found dead in her swimming pool. But who is the real murderer?
The French-language Belgian television series first aired on Netflix in the US on 21 December 2016. So far there is no sign of a third season of this show, and with it set to be removed from Netflix at the end of this month, we highly recommend getting on the Break train and binging the series over the next few weeks, before it is gone.
