When Will My Hero Academia Manga End According To Kōhei Horikoshi

Anticipation is building up as the sixth season of My Hero Academia approaches this October. Most definitely it has been on a role since its inception. A remarkable run, wouldn’t you say? But some may wonder how long the superhero anime might still go on for. That’s what we’ll be answering today in this article, so stick around as we give you all the latest updates!

What are Kōhei Horikoshi’s thoughts on My Hero Academia coming to an end?

The long time running manga centred around superheroes has no doubt been a fan favourite. But creator Kōhei Horikoshi had shockingly announced last year he was planning on ending the series. On one end fans were sad as My Hero Academia had become a major addition to the anime industry, whereas others understood about the author moving onto newer projects, maybe even a sequel.

Izuku Midorya A.K.A Deku

Speaking of Deku, here’s a list of the best green haired anime characters to date!Horikoshi had much to say about it when asked,

“If things progress smoothly, the original My Hero Academia manga will reach its goal, for instance, in just about a year. If things do not go smoothly, I think at next year’s Jump Festa, I’ll have Mr. Yamashita (Deku’s Voice Actor) read the same statement.”

He further added his thoughts on how he could see the series approaching its destination,

“I feel like I can finally see the goal in sight. It’s a rather strange feeling getting to this point. In the past, I would just be drawing without a single care, but now I wonder just how many more times can I draw these characters? Change is scary as you grow older. Well, I really shouldn’t dwell on that! Until next volume then!”

If you’re curious about what else Horikoshi has to say, you can check out his Twitter. Ever wonder how tall the characters are? Well, here you go.

So now it’s time to answer that question nagging you since the beginning of the article.

When will My Hero Academia manga end?

The manga will end after the current War Arc, which is the final arc of the manga. You expect it to conclude near Chapter 400. So that’s that, the manga will come to an end in about a year or so. But that doesn’t eliminate the possibility of a continuation somewhere down the line.

The manga started publication during 2014 in the Weekly Shōnen Jump, and has since been licensed by Viz Media for a digital English release. Apart from the main series there have been multiple spin-offs, such as My Hero Academia: Smash!!, And My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. And oh boy, each of them has over 100 chapters. That’s more than what most main series have, like Chainsaw Man Part 1 had only 97 chapters!

It seems fair to say that the lore of My Hero Academia is very massive. So that might just be the reason which suggests the time for moving in has approached eight years later. Anime fans can take a sigh of relief as after My Hero Academia season six there will surely be at least two more season. A movie adaptation also seems likely. The story of the iconic clash between All Might and All For One still remains to be shown as well, but more on that later.

The sixth season is coming out in October, but it isn’t the biggest anime release of the month. That’s because Mob Psycho 100 III, Chainsaw Man, Blue Lock, and more are releasing in October as well!
