Netflix shows that controversy is so yesterday as it collaborates with Dave Chappelle yet again for stand-up laughter in its 11-day legendary festival next year.
Chappelle’s show called, “Dave Chappelle and Friends” will set the festival in motion on April 28 at the Hollywood Bowl. The gig comes as a surprise to some considering the comedian’s firestorm ignition after making transphobic remarks in his last show, The Closer that debuted on October 1.
Not only Chappelle but also Netflix got into hot water for the special in addition to how it handled employees’ concerns where some staged a walkout.
Chappelle later remarked in a video that he is willing to work with the transgender community at Netflix but will not compromise to meet anybody’s demands.
In this case, Netflix chooses to say WTF and throw caution to the wind. Let’s see how things turn out for both Chappelle and Netflix next year, hopefully for the better than worse.

Gabriel Iglesias, publicly known as “Fluffy”, is preparing to bring the house down on May 7 at Dodger Stadium. He will be the first stand-up comedian to perform at the venue.
On the same date, the notable combo, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey who starred together in the films, Baby Mama (2008) and Sisters (2015), will host a gig at the YouTube Theater. Meanwhile, Seth Rogen will make history at a four-night live table read to be held at the Orpheum Theatre.
Netflix will host several live-recording events, including a special paying tribute to late comedy icons Robin Williams, Richard Pryor, Joan Rivers and George Carlin, which will be recorded at the Hollywood Palladium.
This is just the tip of the iceberg to the endless stream of renowned comedians that Netflix has lined up to bring much-needed laughter to the LA audience and international Netflix comedy fans.
