Blockbuster Hindu Film ‘Sooryavanshi’ Comes to Netflix

Netflix officially announces the release of the Hindu blockbuster film, Sooryvanshi, created by Rohit Shetty. #sooryavanshi started trending on Twitter a few hours ago after the movie dropped on Netflix at midnight, available in several languages, including Hindi, English, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam.

It’s Release

The film was initially set to be released on 24th March 2020 but got delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. It was then scheduled for 30 April 2021 but still got postponed indefinitely due to the escalation of COVID-19 cases and restrictions in Maharashtra. Eventually, the movie saw its worldwide theatrical release on 5 November 2021, which was also the day of Diwali. It has been a long wait, but here we are!

What to Expect

Sooryvanshi packs action, crime and trill in one as the lead actor, DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, the chief of the Anti-terrorism Squad in India, investigates the devious schemes of local terrorists. If you haven’t watched the movie on the big screen yet, now you can enjoy it from the comfort of your couch. It runs for 2 hours 23 minutes so, you’re set for an extended thrill to keep you at the edge of your seat.

How Does it Rate?

This action drama film has received a 6.4/10 rating on IMDb, 33% rotten tomatoes and a 2/5 score on The Indian Express. 82% of viewers liked what it had to offer, with some stating that they were glad it kicked off Diwali with a great story, awesome choreography and a superb climax.

Who Are the Cast Members?

While the movie has a great display of talented Hindu cast members, the top ones we can’t leave unmentioned are Akshay Kumar as Veer Sooryavanshi, Katrina Kaif as Ria Sooryavanshi, Ajay Devgn as Bajirao Singham, Ranveer Singh as Sangram Bhalerao (Simmba), Jaaved Jaaferi as Kabir Shroff (Javed Jaffrey) and Jackie Shroff as Omar Hafeez.
