Bridgerton Wraps Up its Season 2 Filming

Great news for all loyal fans of this Netflix romantic series! Bridgerton finally finishes filming its 2nd season, which means that you’ll be watching it sooner than later on Netflix next year.

Netflix launched a teaser trailer of the second season of this TV show in September that hinted at a budding romance between Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and Daphne’s elder brother, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey).

Confirmation of Season 2 Wrap Up

As news of the show’s 2nd season wrap-up light up the social media, Chris Van Dusen, the creator and executive producer, posted a heart-warming photo of him sandwiched between Bridgerton’s next ‘it’ couple, aka Bailey and Ashley on Twitter earlier on Sunday 21st November.

Dusen also congratulated the cast and crew members for giving it their all by working tirelessly every day during a challenging year. He particularly thanked the two he was embracing in his photo.

What to Expect in Season 2?

In the second season, you should expect a spotlight shift from the romance between Simon Basset (Rege-Jean Page) and Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) to Anthony and Kate’s. The new romance is based on the novel The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn.

In the novel, Kate Sharma’s character is identified as Kate Sheffield, but Dusen and his creative team switched it up by making Kate of Indian descent, hence the name Sharma.

Season 2 also adds a new character, Edwina, Kate’s younger sister, played by the British Indian actress Charithra Chandran. Edwina will be the newest diamond of the first water.
