Countdown: Coming to Netflix December 14th

Who doesn’t love a good horror flick? Released in 2019, Countdown didn’t get great reviews but it did extremely well in the box office, where it matters! The horror is coming to Netflix this month, on December 14th, so if you haven’t yet seen it you can take a break from Christmas movies for a while and give yourself a nice scare.

Countdown is an American supernatural horror, the premise of which is reminiscent of films like Final Destination and The Ring, where the character knows that they are for it, and we the watchers just have to watch them try not to die… until they do, inevitably, die.

A modern upgrade to the videotape that the characters must watch in The Ring, the deathday device in Countdown is a smartphone app that tells users when they are going to die. The date of their death always seems to be soon, for some reason. After nurse Quinn Harris, played by Elizabeth Lail, downloads the app and discovers she’s about to kick the bucket, she tries to figure out what the app is and how to stop it. Helped by a friendly priest, Father John, played by P.J. Byrne, she discovers that the Countdown app has something to do with a demon, and can only be stopped if one of the people who have it either die before the time they have been prophecized to, or after their time is supposed to be up.

This film has scary moments and gross deaths and blood, and everything you want really from a mindless horror movie.
