Korean Drama ‘Kill Bok-Soon’ Among Netflix’s Upcoming Thriller Films

Kill Bok-soon (title still in the works) is the latest original Korean film lining up for Netflix. Asian Wiki confirms that the actors, Jeon Do-Yeon, Sol Kyung-Gu, Koo Gyo-Hwan and Esom will be starring in the thriller movie.

The film will be written and directed by Byun Sung-hyun, who is recognized and acclaimed for the 2017 movie, The Merciless, as well as the yet-to-come Kingmaker.

Synopsis of Kill Bok-soon

Kill Bok-soon (Jeon Do-Yeon) is a single mother of a 15-year-old daughter and trained assassin who works with M.K. Enterprises under Cha Min-Kyu (Sol Kyung-Gu). Though Kill Bok-soon respects her trainer, Cha Min-Kyu, she knows not to mess with him because he is a dangerous man and can sabotage her life in a second.

Joining Kill Bok-soon is Han Hee-Sung (Koo Gyo-Hwan), who is an undercover proficient assassin also working with M.K. Enterprises. Chan Min-Kyu’s younger sister Chan Min-Hee (Esom), is an executive at M.K. Enterprises and is generally closed off to people.

When Will Kill Bok-soon Premiere On Netflix?

As of writing, there is no confirmation when Kill Bok-soon will begin production or premiere on Netflix. We shall share more info on the film’s expected release date soon.

What we know for sure is that Netflix has recently been churning out an impressive catalogue of Korean content, including the 2021 Squid Game, Hellbound, The Silent Sea and My Name, some of which scooped top positions on the streamer’s most viewed shows.

Also last year, Netflix’s Move To Heaven won third place on 2021’s list of 10 Best Korean dramas on NME. So, a lot is riding on this upcoming thriller film.
